I. Welcome

Roll Call: introductions by participants

II. Business (old/new)
a. Review/Approval of minutes:
Ruth made the motion to approve the minutes; Ann seconded the motion, Unanimous approval.
b. AzTEA Westside Budget Discussion:
Discussion about releasing some or all of the funds ($1025.00) back to AzTEA to assist with budget challenges. Tabled until after discussion of End of the Year social.
c. End of the Year Social
Discussion about type of social, where and when. Suggestion to have it at Ruth's and a potluck format. Unanimous vote to have it at Ruth's and potluck, but we will need some money for thank yous.
Date selection: Thursday May 20th @ 5:00 - unanimous vote.

Everyone in the Westside Chapter is invited. Sandy will organize the potluck, create Google form to be sent out.
d. AzTEA Westside Budget Discussion:
Revisit discussion about budget. Motion made by Sandy Israel to return $700.00 to AzTEA and keep $325 for end of the year. Ruth, Nan, Ruben and Rick seconded the motion. Unanimous vote of approval.

e. Next meeting - vote for new officers

Co-Chairs: Laura Sheehy, Sandy Israel (possibly)
Workshop Chair: Jill Tinsley (Ann will help.)
Secretary: Nan Williams
Unanimous vote that nominations are completed.

Stephen volunteered to help with the website. Ruben has been working on it this year but will be tied up with the grant next year.

f. IDEAL on iTunesU: New channel-Classroom 2.0 LIVE and coming soon: updates to AzTEA-Peggy George
Classroom 2.0 LIVE has a channel in the IDEAL portal in iTunesU. Find it by searching Classroom 2.0 in iTunesU or going to IDEAL portal and find it there. Peggy is getting permission to update the AzTEA site on IDEAL, and will be able to upload so people can subscribe.

The interviews are fantastic and come up every week. Steve interviews educational leaders and authors in Elluminate. The interviews are recorded and posted. A sample of what is coming up is listed above. Larry Ferlazzo compiles incredible resources for educators and many for ESL educators. Follow him anywhere you can. He calls them "The Best of...".
h. Using ETAN to advocate for educational technology funding support: Recent letter to AZ legislators and letter received from Ed Pastor, AZ Congressman and member of House Appropriations Committee-Peggy George http://www.etan.org
Encouraging everyone to use ETAN to advocate educational technology funding support. Whenever the announcement comes across, she submits a letter. Peggy always gets a reply from Ed Pastor. In the last reply she received, Ed Pastor assured her that "as a member of the Appropriations Committee, you can be assured that I will be working with my colleagues to ensure that students continue to receive the technology education needed to succeed in the modern economy." So please send in your letters.

VII. WOW Conference Update: Ruth Catalano, Chair
a. Update - Ruth
Schedule spreadsheet for WOW:
- Working on getting notices out to presenters. Ruth contacted Brett for help on doing this.
- Birds of a Feather review of groups, Ruth is looking for volunteers for 3 more topics (you choose). Nan Williams will do Standards. Ann was nominated for Discovery but if she's not available, find someone else.
- 90-minute rooms filled except for one. Jill agreed to fill the open 90-minute session as BYOL since all labs are taken. Have not heard from a lot of vendor partners on whether and what sessions they will hold. Possible solution for vendors is to hold them in the teacher lounge.
- Program has to go to press by April 21/22.
- Call for presenters' spreadsheet: tremendous variety of presentations. Reviewed offerings and decision about one presenter.
- Same tech crews as last year.
- Have to decide by mid April if need more bags, only if go over 250. 2-3 schools are sending 10 people a piece.
- Discussion of gift for keynote presenter and funding for it.

b. Friday Night Dinner and Musical Social Event following the Keynote - Peggy

Draft of email contains information - review how we want event to go; funding is still an issue. Limit participation to 50 people, focusing on administrators, not just tech leaders. Last year sent out to Westside tech leaders and then they personally invite 1-2 administrators (legislators, school board, district administration, school administration, etc.). At 50, registration is cut-off. Planning Tweetwood Mac for after dinner. Kevin Honeycutt will be bringing guitar and mixer for everyone to be able to perform. You can bring anything to make music including iPhone/Touch or just sing along. It will be a fun social time.
Almost unanimous vote to agree to procedure: email will be going to Westside leadership and then they will invite others. Certificates will be done for Friday night attendees.
Student Culinary Art will be cooking and serving for dinner.
Decided on not using tickets, just a sign-in sheet.
